Microgrids are small power grids, localized so that they can operate autonomously to the main grid. Microgrids can be installed in places where no main grid exists.

In 2016 ANF contributed to the design of a 4MW (2MW natural gas 2MW diesel) microgrid at Great Lakes Greenhouses in Leamington Ontario. Taking advantage of the relatively low-cost of natural gas, the proponents were able to significantly reduce their energy bill.
